What’s Britain’s favourite?
A recent poll of 2,000 adults commissioned by Lyle’s Golden Syrup asked the nation to consider their pancake preferences.As many as 85 per cent enjoy unusual topping combinations – with 22 per cent opting for brie and cranberry, and a few even claiming to dollop on golden syrup with bacon and cheese.But the biggest trend this Pancake Day is sweet and savoury, or ‘swavoury’ combos that are sweeping the nation, proving that winning pancake combos come in all shapes and sizes.


Syrupy Pairings
Drizzling golden syrup and walnuts proved popular for 33 per cent of those surveyed about their favourite pancake toppings, with 10 per cent going for indulgent dulce de leche and salty pretzels. These sought-after syrupy combinations provide a much-needed answer to the burning question on our lips this Pancake Day; sweet, or savoury?
