Chocolate Marbled Pancakes

No one loves the classic pancake more than we do, but sometimes you just can't beat a drizzle of chocolate. That's where our Chocolate Marbled Pancakes come in - so good you'll be going back for seconds!

Ingredients

110g plain flour

275ml full-fat milk

1 large egg

1 large egg yolk

2 tsp cocoa powder

1 tbsp vegetable oil, plus butter for frying

Lyle's Golden Syrup, to serve

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour in a large bowl and make a well in the centre - then pour the vegetable oil, egg yolk, milk, and egg into a jug and lightly beat together. Gradually add this to the well in the flour,  whilst whisking and slowly drawing in the flour until you have a smooth batter.
  2. Split the batter into 2 bowls and add the cocoa powder to one bowl.
  3. Cook the pancakes on a griddle or non-stick frying pan. Add 1 tablespoon of plain batter mix and swirl in the chocolate batter to form a circle.
  4. Cook for about 20-30 seconds – until the batter is set, giving a golden-brown pancake. Now flip the pancake and cook for a further 20 seconds.
  5. Pile up the pancakes and top them with Lyle’s Golden Syrup.
