Lyle's Caramelised Red Onion Chutney and Chilli Burger Relish is a sweet and tangy condiment that adds a rich, flavorful kick to any dish. With the sweetness of Lyle's Golden Syrup balancing the sharpness of red wine vinegar and balsamic, and a hint of heat from red chili, this chutney is perfect for elevating burgers, sandwiches, or cheese boards. Easy to make and long-lasting, it's a delicious addition to your pantry!
Lightly heat the sunflower oil, add the onions and red chili. Sautee for 8-10 minutes, add the paprika and stir in.
Add in the water, red wine vinegar, balsamic and Lyles and simmer for approx. 25 minutes, ready when the onions are soft and gooey.Stir in the freshly chopped thyme 5 minutes before the end of cook.
Sterilise 2 1lb Jars, ladle into the jars and seal. Once opened, store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
