Take a Look Ingredients Servings 2 4 Hot Cross Buns (slightly stale ones work just as well and save on food wastage!) 3 eggs 70ml whole milk 1/2 tsp mixed spice 1/2 tsp nutmeg Lyles Golden Syrup for drizzling Butter for pan frying Fresh fruit to top Instructions Firstly, slice each of your Hot Cross Buns into slices, I prefer to slice mine like a mini loaf but horizontally will work just as well. In a small bowl, mix together the milk, eggs, spices and vanilla. Pour into a shallow dish and lay each slice of Hot Cross Bun in there for a minute on each side. Heat a pan with a small knob of butter and pan fry each slice for a couple of minutes on each side. You may need to do this in batches, you can keep the rest warm in a low oven. Arrange them on a plate with fresh fruit and now for the fun part . . . drizzling them with generous swirls of Lyle’s Golden Syrup! A real treat that is ridiculously quick and easy to prepare - perfect for Easter Weekend Brunch!
