This Easter, enjoy an Absolutely Golden Breakfast and make use of your leftover Hot Cross Buns with this Hot Cross Bun French Toast recipe.
Firstly, slice each of your Hot Cross Buns into slices, I prefer to slice mine like a mini loaf but horizontally will work just as well.
In a small bowl, mix together the milk, eggs, spices and vanilla. Pour into a shallow dish and lay each slice of Hot Cross Bun in there for a minute on each side.
Heat a pan with a small knob of butter and pan fry each slice for a couple of minutes on each side. You may need to do this in batches, you can keep the rest warm in a low oven.
Arrange them on a plate with fresh fruit and now for the fun part . . . drizzling them with generous swirls of Lyle’s Golden Syrup! A real treat that is ridiculously quick and easy to prepare - perfect for Easter Weekend Brunch!
