Festive Flapjacks

These mincemeat flapjacks make the perfect seasonal gift - just slice and wrap them in brown paper and tie them with a piece of twine, and you're sorted!

100g Tate & Lyle Light Brown Soft Sugar

100g Tate & Lyle Demerara Sugar

225g Butter

150g Lyle’s Golden Syrup

350g Porridge Oats

1tsp Mixed Spice

150g Mincemeat



  1. Preheat the oven to 160C / 350F, then grease and line a 9 x 9-inch square baking tin with non-stick baking parchment.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter, Lyle's Golden Syrup and sugars over a low to medium heat, stirring every now and then with a wooden spoon.
  3. Add the oats and mix again, until everything is thoroughly combined.
  4. Mix through the mincemeat and mixed spice, then press into your prepared baking tin. 
  5. Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes until lightly golden brown, then remove from the oven and use a sharp knife to gently score the flapjacks into rectangular bars.
  6. Leave to cool completely in the tin before removing and cutting properly.
