Let your kids’ creativity run wild with these fun and easy crafts using empty Lyle’s tins. Perfect for a rainy day or a weekend project!

What you’ll need:

• Empty Lyle’s tins
• Decorative items (ribbon, paint, glitter, googly eyes, fabric etc)
• Scissors
• Glue
• String
• Hammer and nail

First, wash your tin with warm, soapy water (not suitable for the dishwasher), then dry it thoroughly.

How to make a wind sock

1. Carefully remove the bottom of the tin. File the sharp edges smooth and cover with duct tape for extra protection.

2. Let your child decorate the tin with paint, glitter, or any other materials they like.

3. Attach lengths of ribbon or fabric to the inside of the bottom of the tin using glue.

4. Attach a length of ribbon to the top of the tin with glue so you can hang your wind sock, then hang it up and watch the ribbon flow in the breeze.

2. Punch a hole in the bottom of each tin using a hammer and nail.
