Does Lyle’s Golden Syrup contain sugar?
Yes, golden syrup is made in the process of refining sugar cane.
Do any of the Lyle’s products contain nuts?
No Lyle’s products contain nuts.
Do any of the Lyle’s products contain gluten?
All Lyle’s products are gluten free.
Do any of the Lyle’s products contain milk?
Only Lyle’s Dessert Syrup – Chocolate flavour contains skimmed milk powder and sweetened condensed milk. No other Lyle’s products contain milk or milk derivatives.
Do any of the Lyle’s products contain fish oil or gelatin?
No Lyle’s products contain fish oil or gelatin.
Do any of the Lyle’s products contain ‘E’ numbers?
Lyle’s Golden Syrup and Lyle’s Black Treacle are natural ingredients and contain no ‘E’ numbers. Only in Lyle’s Dessert Syrup – Strawberry flavour have we added E330 (citric acid) to achieve the correct consistency and to improve flavour. Citric acid is a naturally occurring organic acid found in many fruits especially oranges, lemons and limes. It helps in the breakdown of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins.
Do any of the Lyle’s products contain Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)?
No Lyle’s products contain MSG.
Are the Lyle’s products suitable for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes, all Lyle’s products are suitable for vegetarians. All Lyle’s products are suitable for vegans except Lyle’s Dessert Syrup – Chocolate flavour, which contains skimmed milk powder and sweetened condensed milk.
Are Lyle’s products Kosher?
Yes, all Lyle’s products hold Kosher Certification. The London Beth Din audits our premises and production procedures annually and issues certification on the basis of this audit.
Are Lyle’s products Halal?
Yes, all Lyle’s products hold Halal Certification.
Are Lyle’s products fat free and cholesterol free?
Yes, all Lyle’s products are fat and cholesterol free except Lyle’s Dessert Syrup – Chocolate flavour, which contains 6% fat.
Are Lyle’s products GM free?
Yes, all Lyle’s products are GM free.
I am pregnant/breast feeding, should I avoid any Lyle’s products?
No, all Lyle’s products are fine for pregnant and breast feeding women.
Lyle’s Golden Syrup has a best before end (BBE) date – does it go off?
It is recommended all Lyle’s products be consumed within three months of opening. Over time pressure can build up in the tin in the space between the syrup and the lid, therefore it is not advisable to use these products if they are past their best before date.
