- Three dessert apples, peeled and cored
- 15g/ 1/2oz unsalted butter
- 4 tbsp Lyle’s Golden Syrup
- 2-3 tbsp Tate & Lyle Icing sugar, sifted
To decorate: sprigs of fresh mint and sprinkling of Tate & Lyle Icing Sugar. |

Instructions Slice the apples in halve so you have a total of 6 halves. Melt butter in a frying pan and fry the apples over a gentle heat, flattest side first until a rich brown and just beginning to catch at the edges. Turn over and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Spoon the Lyle’s Golden Syrup over the apples, sprinkle over the sifted Tate & Lyle Icing Sugar and pop under the grill to caramelize the top. Serve with ice-cream or cream for a perfect dessert for family summer entertaining.
