We hope you enjoy our recipes. Remember you can print out the shopping list as well as the full recipe. Remember to come back for more!

500g/1lb 2oz plain or milk chocolate chips
225g/8oz roughly chopped nuts, eg hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts
100g/4oz mini marshmallows
3tbsp Lyle’s Golden Syrup
Silver or gold balls and other small sweets
225g/8oz coloured marzipan or sugarpaste icing
Royal icing
Tate & Lyle Icing Sugar, to dust

Instructions

1. Cover two or three baking sheets with foil or non-stick baking parchment and draw six six-point stars on them, measuring 20cm/8in, 18cm/7in, 15cm/6in, 13cm/5in, 10cm/4in and 7.5cm/3in in diameter.

2. Place the chocolate chips in a bowl and microwave on defrost setting for about 7-8 minutes until melted. Add the nuts, marshmallows and Golden Syrup and stir until evenly mixed.

3. Spoon the chocolate mixture on to the baking sheets to cover the stars as evenly as possible. Sprinkle over silver or gold balls and other small sweets as decorations. Leave in a cool place to set then carefully peel the stars off the foil or parchment.

4. Shape the marzipan or sugarpaste icing into a ‘tub’ for the tree and place on a plate or board. Spread a little royal icing on the ‘tub’ and place the largest chocolate star on top. Leave to set. Spoon or spread royal icing in the centre of the star and place the next largest star on top. Leave to set, then continue building the tree using the stars in decreasing order of size and allowing to set between each layer.

5. Dust the finished tree with icing sugar and place a paper star on top.
